Old Ruff: Gameplay

The original concept of Ruff was simplier. A Ruff Day is a 2D platformer game for Windows Phone 7. The game stars Ruff the Raccoon who travels through challenging levels collecting trash and creating useful items such as paper gliders and aluminum swords. He battles trash monsters as he tries to clean up the city

Old Ruff: Animations

Our first iteration of the ruff game had a more pixeled style to its art. As you can see the animation was given to the programmers in frames side by side and equal length from one another. They were created and animated in photoshop.

Ruff is Born

Our originally ideal for Ruff was created by our artist, Emily Chiang, to represent a unlikely example of a protagonist. This character sheet was the first artwork of many Ruff will appear on. It features Ruff's signature bandana, long tail, and way of standing. Although still being refined, this marks the beginning of his life.
